Automating Single-Cell Sequencing Workflows to Generate Cell Atlases

Watch the webinar recording below.

In this webinar, Chan Zuckerberg Biohub San Francisco researchers will discuss the automation of high-throughput plate- and droplet-based scRNA-seq workflows using SPT Labtech’s Firefly system to generate transcriptomic maps, or atlases, for different model organisms such as humans (Tabula Sapiens) and zebrafish (Zebrahub). Cell atlases, or Tabulae, provide valuable insight into the expression patterns of genes in a given cell, and how this expression dictates the specialized functions of many cell types that make up healthy and diseased tissues and organs.

The Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network is a group of nonprofit research institutes that bring together scientists, engineers, and physicians with the goal of pursuing grand scientific challenges on a 10- to 15-year time horizon. The Biohub Network focuses on understanding underlying mechanisms of disease and developing new technologies that will lead to actionable diagnostics and effective therapies. The inaugural Chan Zuckerberg Biohub in San Francisco, which launched in 2016, is focused on elucidating dynamic cell systems across scales in health and disease. In support of this mission, the Genomics Platform at CZ Biohub SF is continuously evaluating and integrating cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enable the utilization of high-quality genomic measurements that advance biomedical research.
