As the curtain falls on an incredible year, we at SPT Labtech pause to celebrate the remarkable achievements of 2024. This year has been defined by innovation, teamwork, and progress, bringing us closer to transforming the landscape of life sciences. In this reflection, we’re excited to share some of the standout moments that highlight how our technologies and expertise are driving the future of scientific discovery.
At SLAS Boston, we launched firefly+, an expansion to our established liquid handling platform that integrates an on-deck thermocycler and increased labware capacity. These capabilities enable fully automated NGS library preparation workflows, while keeping firefly's signature user-friendly software and compact footprint.
In June, we expanded our nanoliter liquid handling portfolio with the launch of mosquito Gen3. As the most compact and accessible model of the mosquito range, Gen3 brings NGS cost savings to more laboratories by lowering the barrier to advanced miniaturization technology.
Our XL20 automated tube handler takes care of critical sample labeling, tracking and volume detecting workflows, so you can focus on the science. This year, we released an upgraded design for over 50% increased speed, bringing even more efficiency in the lab.
This year, we took an exciting step into the world of storytelling and conversation by launching our very own podcast. Designed to delve into the pulse of the biotech industry, our podcast explores some of the most compelling trends and innovations shaping the future of science. From breakthroughs in genomics and drug discovery to the latest advancements in sample management, we bring together experts and thought leaders to share insights, spark discussions, and uncover the stories driving progress in these fascinating fields.
We were thrilled to be joined by researchers from the Biopolymers Genomics Core Facility (BPF) at Harvard Medical School, who shared how they generate high-quality NGS libraries for Illumina sequencing.
Multicellular models offer more physiologically relevant data but face challenges in scalability and reproducibility. In this webinar, learn how advances in automation and DoE methodology are overcoming these barriers, and have been applied in the development of a new cardiotoxicity assay platform.
EditCo offers genome engineering solutions to facilitate research in target-based drug discovery and disease modelling. The team sought an automated solution to store and manage a growing library of over 30,000 unique oligonucleotides.
