The Receivers are interfaced to instruments, using the vial barcode to select the correct analytical method to run. There are multiple interface applets, to work with differing autosampler technologies. Examples include a version which interfaces to an Agilent 1260 autosampler and expects the autosampler to pick the vial from the Receiver and place it in the sample position. Another version interfaces to Waters Acquity and presents the vial into the workspace of the autosampler. Once in position, the needle is inserted directly into the same vial. A stripper plate in the autosampler ensures the vial remains in the presentation arm after sampling.
