The recommended VolumeCheck options are set as defaults:
The Scanning Options and Error Handling screen is found under the Settings Menu, then
Ultrasound Scanning Options. Use it to set scanning hardware parameters and error handling
options.
Basic Scanning Options
- Normal vs. High Speed Scanning
- High Speed (fast scan) mode: 30 seconds scanning 384 well plate
- Collects fewer samples and is coordinated precisely with motor movement to
gather data points at a high speed.

Note: High Speed Scanning is only available on VC384
-
- Normal Scan mode 2-3 minutes for 384 well plate
- Collects more data samples on a well-by-well method, which is slower, but can be
set up to gather many more samples per well for higher accuracy and error
handling.

- Normal Scan mode 2-3 minutes for 384 well plate
- Samples per tube/well: recommended = 3
- Wait time before measuring a tube/well (milliseconds): recommended = 10
- Wait time between samples (milliseconds): recommended = 10
- Wait time after tray movement (milliseconds): recommended = 100
Note: Tray movement may cause fluids to move within the tubes/wells of the labware. Therefore this delay time allows the fluid to settle after tray movement, before starting measurements.
Drift Compensation
Retained for compatibility with older units which do not have a Z-Axis motor.
Note: Room temperature is the most common reason for calibration distance fluctuation. When Drift Compensation is selected, the main processing screen DISTANCE display is the actual measured distance, while the VOLUME data display is with drift compensation calculated.
