Pre-installation requirements
The services required by arktic are documented in arktic's Pre-Installation Site Check.
All connections are made when arktic is installed and should require no further attention.
arktic is robust to the loss of major services during operation.
Environmental conditions
arktic requires the following environmental conditions to operate:
- Temperature
- Maximum room temperature 25°C
- Working average 23°C
- Humidity
- Maximum room humidity 60% RH
- Working average 55% RH
IMPORTANT: Failure to maintain an appropriate environment temperature and humidity may invalidate arktic's warranty.
- Room air pressure must not be subject to sudden fluctuations
- Room cleanness meets ISO 8 standards. If this cannot be guaranteed, an acceptable
environment must have the following;- Sealed floors and walls that can be wiped down and do not contain particulates
- No direct access to the ‘outside’ with exception of a fire exit
- Any air conditioning vents should not blow dust in from outside. A coarse filter would
suffice.
Power
arktic mains power requirements are:
- USA only: 208V – 240V Two phase @ 60Hz
- 230V (+10% -6%) @50Hz
- Max power consumption during normal use 1.8 kW
- Peak power consumption 3.6 kW, average 1.25 kW
reliance engineers will ensure that arktic is installed in accordance with electrical safety
regulations.
Air supply
arktic needs an air supply that meets the following criteria:
- 7 Bar/100psi ±10%
- Bulk liquid free
- Oil free
- Meets average demand of 23l/min
- Meets peak demand 133l/min
- Maximum temperature 30°C
IMPORTANT: arktic's air supply must be maintained consistently, even when no orders are being
processed.
Air drying
arktic requires the air supply to be dried to the following standard:
- ISO8573:1:2001 standard, class 1
- Solid Particulate:
- ≤10 parts/m³ at 1-5 μm
- ≤400 parts/m³ at 0.5 – 1 μm
- ≤20,000 parts/m³ at 0.1-0.5 μm
- Pressure Dew Point ≤ -70°C
- Oil: ≤ 0.01 mg/m³
IMPORTANT: The system should not be run if the dew point of the dry air supply is above -
70°C.
